Whichever stance your take, briefly explain the statements “business ethics is an oxymoron” and “ethics has an important role in business”. Business is run on certain norms and to follow the norms one should be ethical, if you are don't have ethics than you cannot follow the rules and regulations .So without ethics business is incomplete. In this scenario ethics plays an important role in business .

Ethics is also plays an important role in shaping your business , it helps you to distinguish between right and wrong .

Examples of business ethics are.
Ethics are your moral principles , so of your promise your staff a bonus after your sale increase , than you should stick to your words and pay them the bonus after the sales is increased . But if you don't pay them after even after the sale is increased than it will have a negative effect on business .But if you pay them than it will bring a positive change in business .

An employee come to you and say she has been harassed by manager , and after investigating you come to know that she was really harassed by manager. But the manager is the backbone of your company and an asset. And if he resign company will lose one of your asset from the company. But if you are ethical than you will be on the right side and support the girl who was harassed. This will bring positive change in the companies environment and employees will work hard.
