What will the Border of the future look like? Will there be a physical "border?"
Discuss technology's impact on border security.
In the future, will Border Patrol Agents spend more time in a UAV (drone) trailer than on horseback patrol?
Discuss the future, both in North America and worldwide.
Border of the Future
Borders are geographical boundaries separating two countries,
administrative divisions, or other areas. Even with the current
situation with the standoff over the border wall, we can not deny
the fact that US Border Protection is undergoing some serious
modernization as the new technology like drones and AI-based
security systems are getting more reliable. The border of the
future could very much be a geographical boundary solely monitored
by drones and another Infrared based security system. I believe
that border patrol in the future is going to be able to classify
things much quicker using technology like Artificial Intelligence
System. We are already living in a world where face recognition is
a thing and you cannot tell if there is an AI taking over the phone
or a real person, So as this technology becomes more streamlined
and reliable we could see a change in how the border is patrolled
in the future.
Will, there be a physical border
Even if the technology becomes so reliable that it could operate on
its own or if suddenly the whole world decides to have peace, We
just cannot deny the importance of an actual physical border
separating two countries. There could be fewer personnel required
on the border in the future but I believe that there is always
going to be a physical border in place for security and physical
barrier between two countries.
Technology's impact on Border Security
Technology has impacted border security in a big. Unmanned Aerial
Vehicles (UAV) are remotely controlled from the ground. These UAVs
can cover a large area for patrolling which is so different from
the was borders used to be patrolled in the past.CBP continues to
update its automated systems with a lot of advanced risk models and
algorithms, prophetical sorts of automation and adaptational
technology that reduces the necessity for human analysis and speeds
identification of latest and rising threats. CBP applies advanced
knowledge analytics to mix cargo knowledge, chronicle and biometric
knowledge, past importation and travel patterns and social control
action data to remain before rising threats. The integration of
advanced security data with the knowledge used for restrictive risk
assessment can lead to improved detection rates of dangerous,
unsafe and fraudulently entered merchandise.
Will Border Patrol Agents spend more time in a UAV
(drone) trailer than on horseback patrol
It depends on how technology advances, how reliable it becomes, If
all goes well then Yes border patrol agents in the
future will spend more time one UAV trailer than on a horseback
patrol. I would not be the case for every county. Underdeveloped or
Developing countries they could still be using old methods of
border patrolling but for the USA we would see a difference in the
way borders are patrolled in the future using more advanced
technology like Artificial Intelligence-based security systems
Conclusion
Future of Borders in both North America and World
Using Advanced Technology like UAVs, AI, Advanced Image
Recognition, etc is not going to be the same for every country.
Most of the countries are still using the same old methods for
patrolling because they just don't have the means to adapt to new
technology. Underdeveloped or Developing countries could still be
using old methods of border patrolling like horseback patrolling in
the future but for the USA we would definitely see a difference in
the way borders are patrolled now and in the future using more
advanced technology like UAVs, Predators, Huey Helicopters, Black
Hawks and Artificial Intelligence-based security systems.
