Quality improvement is a systematic process of evaluating and exehusion of quality patient care, patient safety, and management system.continous quality improvement is an effective measure to appraise the system periodically and make changes appropriately based on the emerging trends.Globalization is a factor which warrent high qaulity patient care.A good leadership is essential , to run a quality health care industry as well as institution. There are some principle to improve quality in health care system

a. Create work system and processes. According to the mission of the hospital formulate working system. Develop patient care delivery system and strive to provide it in an acceptable manner.

b. Organizational culture and capacity : organizational culture will create a clear framework about the health acre supply and demand, nature of care provided. It develops dicipline among staff.

C. develop policies and standards. To deliver high quality acre and reduce legal liabilities like negligence and malpractice

d. Periodic reviews and feedback : Regular appraisal of system helps to improve the system

e. Focus on the patient care :Patient centerd.Focus on the need based patient care includes medical care, patient safety,support system, availability of insurance provisions in addition to that health care system should be cost effective.

f. Adequate and quality manpower - It is the vital part of health care industry. Recruitng and appointing right persion in the right position to provide high quality care thus will recease reputation of the instituion.Protection of staff from all kinds of injuries and hazards are primary responsibilites of the hospital.

g.It should be effective and efficient. taking right decision and avoiding unwanted practices provide clear benefit to the patient.

h. Data management system. All kinds of data kept under confidential. Maintaining patinet records, hospital records, incident report etc. Reporting sytem must be clear and properly designed.

i. Reliabilty ,validity and sustainability of care . It should be trust worthy. Extend care services according to the demand of the client or society.

There are some contraints , they are lack of manpower, lack of quality research work, Unequal distribution of health care facilities, lack of funding, poor system adminstartion.
