ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
Objective:
To develop a plan that promotes healthy lifestyle behaviors and to evaluate the plan.

Scenario:
You are a recently hired teacher in a new preschool that serves a diverse population. During the first month on the job, you observe that a number of the children are overweight. You decide to initiate a program that focuses on healthy eating and physical activity. You prepare a chart on which you record each child’s weight and height. To learn more about their current food preferences, you create a game by posting pictures of nutritious and unhealthy foods and snack items on a wall. You ask all of the children in your class to tape a “smiley face” or a “frown face” on each of the foods.

Focus Assignment
1. Describe the expected outcome in the food-choice game data based on the unhealthy eating patterns discussed in the chapter, and use this information to prepare a list of twenty nutritious food choices that can be used in learning activities to promote healthy eating.

Food choices include milk,yoghurt,sweet potato fries,banana cookies, turkey,eggs,fruit smoothies,oatmeals,cheese,nuts,berries,carrot sticks with hummus, apples,beans , legumes,mushrooms,fish,meat,apricots,salmon and green leafy vegetables.

All the items in the list provide perfect balance for all vitamins and minerals which are necessary for growth.

Milk and yoghurt is rich in calcium and yoghurt is rich source of protein, sweet potatoes are rich in beta caretonoids which help in growth, banana cookies whichwtheirhic know fruits are best for our body and be making this as cookies will make the children to eat because they may like it.Turkey good source of protein,eggs are important for protein,vitamins,minerals.smoothies will divert children from sodas and cool drinks and they are healthy.Oat meals are rich in fibers.cheese is rich in high quality protien and calcium and children will like to eat it.Fruits,nuts,beans ,legumes are high in iron and fibers.fisheat,salmon which are high in minerals , nutrients,omega 3 fatty acids etc which are good for growth.Vegetables are the rich source for fibers,vitamins,minerals and proteins.

By explaining all the importance of healthy food and the uses it has on the body and providing with list which is liked by every one will make the children's to follow them which will inturn reduces weight and causes awareness among children.
