Objective:

To develop a nutrition lesson plan and to evaluate the plan.

Scenario:

You are planning a week-long nutrition unit for the 3- and 4-year-olds in your preschool classroom. You intend to design lessons around the MyPlate model to help the children begin to learn about foods in each of the food groups.

Learning Activity - Healthy Food Collage - Materials Needed : Magazine and catalog pictures of healthy foods,scissor,glue,paper

Have the children cut out pictures of healthy foods.Discuss the foods they see and why they are or are not healthy.

Food Group Plates : After talking about the food groups,have children chosse food pictures from each food group and glue them onto precut dish shapes!

Paper Mache Foods : Materials Needed : Newspaper,masking tape,Wallpaper paste;paint

Help children shape newspaper into thier favorite healthy food.

- As this lesson plan is prepared based on the preschool children needs- Children attention span is very less,to make learning more interesting and effective - it should always be fun based.
