Solutions

Expert Solution

Electric generator works on faraday's laws Electromagnetic induction,

It states, induced current is produced in a conductor when there is relative motion between conductor and magnet.

In other words when a conductor linked with time varying magnetic flux then induced current is produced.

The rate of change of magnetic flux linked with conductor is equal to induced electro motive force (emf)

In Construction of a electric generator Insoluted copper wire is coiled on a ractangular armature, and armature is placed in slipping rings, And slipping rings are connected by two carbon brushes. Armature is placed in horse shoe magnet. Magnetic field line emerges out from north pole and terminates to south pole. Dirction of induced current is given by right hand's fleming rule.

working: when armature rotaites between two magnetic poles then there is change in flux occurs in it that causes the production of induced emf in it. The magnitude of induce current depends on speed of roataiting armature, core matrial, strength of magnetic field applied. Actually elecric generator converts Mechanical energy in to electrical energy.
