A Group is a fundamental part of a society which is constituted
by two or more persons, called as members and the whole as a group,
having the same objective, common problems and dangers so all
members are engaged in solving them.
The five critical attributes or properties of groups are :
- Frequent interactions : The members of a group are get engaged
with each other in frequent interactions and talk to each other.
For example, staff members of a department.
- Identification : The members of a group are identified being a
member of a group. For example, the employees of a company, who
recognized as a employee of the company.
- Other society members call them as a group : The members of the
society call the group members as a group, as the employees of a
company are called employees of the company.
- Common interest : The members of the group are sharing common
beliefs, values and interest / objective to form a group like a
company is formed with a employee with a common objective or
mission.
- Defined as a group : The members and other persons of the
society define themselves as a group, not as separate person due to
common tasks of each of them being member of the group. For
example, each employee of a company calls themselves as employee of
the company.
