  • Consider your current place of employment, or any past place of employment. List the job title and describe at least one position which fits your description of manager. Then list the job title and describe a different position that fits your description of a leader.
  • Consider the leadership position you've listed and described in Requirement #3, did this person display or utilize any management skills in addition to their leadership skills? Why or why not?
  • Can you think of anyone else who is a manager but not a leader? Or someone who is a leader but not a manager? What makes them one and not the other?

1). The main difference between being a leader and a manager, is that people follow leaders, while managers have people who work for them.A lot of this comes down to three areas

Communication

and about the difference between manager and leader; “Managers have subordinates, leaders have followers”.

In my opinion, a great manager also has leadership skills. They are able to establish a vision within the overall goals of the organization, and encourage employees to work together as a unit to reach toward that vision.

but Mere Managers Always Fear, sometime great leader connects daily work with great goals. A mere manager focuses only on the short-term.

3.) It may seem like some people are just gifted with these skills, but the truth is most leadership traits can be learned and sharpened with time and practice.

  1. Vision. True leadership involves looking beyond today, to tomorrow and beyond.
  2. Optimism. A true leader must be able to inspire and motivate others.
  3. Adaptability. No single leadership style is right for all times and places.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Confidence
  6. Decisiveness
