Describe a specific and unique example of each type of research design (Experimental, Quasi-Experimental, Qualitative, and Correlational) that is not from the chapter, and describe why/how the examples fit the criteria for each research design.
Experimental method: If you want to see the effect of hunger on learning. You will choose a sample and experiment with them in a laboratory, dividing them into two groups; one, who is hungry and given some material to learn and other group is fed and asked to learn some material. Here hunger is the independent variable and learning is dependent variable.
Quasi experimental: if you want to study the effectiveness of interactive method in learning and you divide students on basis of gender or sitting arrangements instead of random assignment.
Qualitative: Quantitative is method which focuses on obtaining data from open ended question, observation and communication. For example if you want to study why people prefer certain clothing brand over other, then qualitative design would be the best choice.
Correlational: In correlational design variable is studied in natural setting by observation unlike experimental design manipulating it. Studying how delayed gratification leads to achievement orientation. Correlational method is generally used to explain or study the relationship between variables, whether positive, negative and none.
