The following drug has been shown to reduce the progression of kidney disease: Explain
A SGLT-2 Inhibitors
B DPP-4 inhibitors
C Meglitinides
D Amiline analogs
E Sulfonilureas
SGLT-2 inhibitors:
It is a glucose lowering oral agents, have the potential to exert nephroprotection not only through improving glycemic control but also through glucose independent effect such as blood pressure lowering and direct renal effects. Many experimental studies showed that SGLT-2 inhibitors reduced hyperfiltration and decreased inflammatory and fibrotic response of proximal tubular cell thus helps to stabilize renal function.
2.DPP -4 inhibitors:
It has a potential to lower albuminuria and also other more complex nephroprotective properties. The effects includes, reduction of oxidative stress, inflammation and improvement of endothelial dysfunction in the kidney.
3. Meglitinides, Amiline analogs, Sulfonylureas:
All these drugs helps to reduce glonerular filtration rate, anti proteinuric effect and renin- aldosterone function suppression. These effects helps to reduce the progression of kidney disease.
