Expert Solution

  • Regimes of truth operate very differently depending on the one. Regimes of truth are structured based of, off general truths like science. Other broader types are religion. Religion is a different level of discourse compared to science.
  • Some discourses create meaning systems where as others will be marginalized. Power is associated with knowledge, meaning that some discourses keep there authority and become heard, where as others will have less power to it.
  • Regimes of truth often “operate in everyday lives, many times through varies forms. One example would be the media, who often times “reinforce negative stereotypes about women such as dumb blondes, passive Asian Americans, or pushy African Americans. For example, as a black person there are ways in which they see the media uses regime of truth in ways that either give false stereotypes about another, specific way in which block people as whole act or are.
  • And those things or stereotypes that might be some level of truth yet again are drawn out of context and reference to something that is not as truthful. These discussions are based on assumptions about specific groups of people who are over generalized.
  • I dislike some of the language that is used towards and against women. There are many negative and derogatory words that are used towards women and not men. I sometimes find myself blending in with society and using some terms which I need to learn to stop doing. Some of these words, terms, and thoughts are engraved in society's mind.
