I'm interviewing someone for a great job opportunity with a great company and the company has a number of growth opportunities and is ranked #1 in their industry. I asked the person what makes you motivated to work in my company, he said the money. What should I do and think about this person?
Please explain to me in critically thinking.
Thank you.
Money plays a vital for any person or an employee of the organization. It is not necessary for every person to have money as a sole motivating factor. There can also be another factor that helps with motivation.
If a person says that he is motivated to work for money in the company, then another question can be asked what if we pay you less. So, the answer can be either yes or no. He should also be interested in the roles and responsibilities needed for hiring. One needs to have a passion for the work which is given by the company. Passion towards work increases the growth of the company as well as the growth of the employee. Money should not be the only reason for motivation in the company.
For example, if an employee works only for money then he will not be focused on the outcome of the work which is given. This way the company's profits will decline and the company will go into huge losses. Money can be one of the motivation factors for the person or an employee of the company. If he/she is greedy then he should not hire him for the company.
