11) what are the 4 stages of Demographic transition? why are they very important? discuss birth, death, and other factors that affect population size
THE 4 STAGES OF DEMOGRAPHIC TRANSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS-
STAGE 1- This is a common condition for a pre-industrialized country and here the birth and death rates are quite high and they remain roughly in the balance. The growth of the population is very slow.
STAGE 2- This phase is called the developing country the death rates drop and the people starts to get new supply of foods medicines etc these ultimately leads to cured disease and longer life span.
STAGE 3- there is increase in the status of the people increase in education of women and usage of contraceptive methods that leads to the drop of the birth rates.Wages increases and urbanization starts to develop.
STAGE 4- The birth rates keep dropping the people who born during the stage 2 are now aged and the population control system of 2 children or 1 child per family policy has evolved so the population starts to shrink death rate may increase due to lifestyle diseases and lack of exercises.
IMPORTANCE-
The importance of such studies is the fact that it helps the Government of a country to deal with the different needs and problems of the population at different time period.
The statistics of these studies help in the development of better education system better schooling that lead to an educated society. Demography also helps in betterment of economy sociology and epidemiology.
