what is the ratio of the sun"s gravitational farce on you to the earth's gravitational force on you? assume you have a mass of 80 kg .
We Know That The Fg= G*(m/r^2).
The Mass of the Earth = 5.98*10^24 kg.
The Mass of the Sun = 1.99*10^30 kg.
The Radius Of The Earth =6,378,100m
The Radius Of the Orbit Of The Earth = 1.5*10^11m.
The Radius Between You And The Sun = The radius of the sun
subtracted from the radius of the eath's orbit around the Sun =
(1.5*10^11m. - 6,378,100m) = 1.499936219*10^11m
So the Ratio is the Fg of The Sun Divided By The Fg of the
Earth.
Dividing the two makes:
(G*(Ms/Re^2))/(G*(Me/Rs^2)
Where G is the gravitational Constant = 6.67*10^-11.
Me = mass of the earth
Ms = mass of Sun
Re = radius of Earth
Rs=Radius between YOU and the Sun (Not the radius of the sun)
The G terms cancel and leave you with the (Ms/Rs^2)/(Me/Re^2)
Mulitplying the denominator by its Reciprical Leaves
((Ms)(Re^2))/(Me*Rs^2))
((1.99*10^30)((6,378,100m)^2)/((5.98*1...
= (8.095351762*10^43)/(1.345385579*10^47)
= 6.0 * 10^-4 = Ratio of F(sun)/F(earth)
