Throughly describe the similarities and differences between the following two paintings:
1. Third class carriage by Honore Damier
2. Rue Transnonain by Honore Damier
SIMILARITIES-
Both the paintings by Honore Damier, Third class carriage and Rue Transnonain reflect the pain, grief and sorrows related to the common citizens.
Both the paintings are very deeply thought.
Each painting reflects a lot of experimentation and tends to be indeed out of box.
DIFFERENCES-
1. Third class carriage by Honore Damier
It is a oil on canvas art piece, falls under genre art and was painted in 1864. Many other paintings based on the train journey have been attempted by Honore Damier. This is an unfinished painting. Majority of the people were not having the capability to buy tickets of either the first or second class train journey. The scene in the third class portion was a terrific one. The huge crowd, shouts and luggage scattered were the main features of the third class travel The given painting reflects a woman with a baby in her hands, further another woman with her hands put on a basket and a boy sleeping. At the back side, there are many other other travellers sitting on the benches.The painting happens to be in the Metropolitan museum.
2- Rue Transnonain by Honore Damier
This is a 1834 painting and the material used is lithograph. The killing of the faultless citizens by the National Guard is the core facet of this painting. The chaos in the context of the protests by the silk workers followed by the fire to kill citizens. A dead man, woman and another man on the body of a baby are the fear arousing aspects of the said painting.
