Motivation: Motivation is an important component which encourages employees to reaching enterprise goals by giving their best Performance. A positive motivation will increase employees productivity. Negative motivation will decrease the their performance. Motivation is the key element in personnel management.

1. Intensity: it deals the dept of involvement in the work being done. Highly motivated person may choose to spend much more time and effort working on the project than is expected or required in the task. A person who is not intensely motivated may complete the task, but he can't display enthusiasm or not put the any extra effort. Intensity is the strength of the response in the chosen direction. It has a close relationship between intensity and the expectation of a desired outcome.
2. Persistence: Persistence is where we continue to strive for a goal even when there are obstacles may exist to reach that goal. Persistence involves using a great deal of our time, energy, and resources to overcome the existing obstacles and helps in the achieving goals. Also it refers to the ongoing nature of the motivation and whether the employee is wish to continually work in a certain way over period.
3. Direction: direction is a term which is refer to the actions to which the employee’s motivation is being directed. Direction is also made out various alternatives available. Direction is the key element of management. It is a continuous process. Motivation requires direction want to accomplish a goal. Direction should benefits the organization.
