The four basic functions of management are planning, organizing, leading and control. They are interrelated t the management skills that are required by any manager to do their work effectively.

Management skills are needed to run a team effectively and t make the team work for the organizational goal. They need to have skills like, making strategy and plans , good communication skill for leading the team , problem solving skills , controlling skills, time management skills, etc. t run the organization.

Now, see individually how both skills and functions of a manage are interrelated.

  1. Planning: it Is one of the most important task of the manage to plan a strategy to achieve the goal of the organization. So for this task the manager should have the vision to see what they need to achieve and plan to how to achieve it . They must be creative to plan the strategy and have time management skill to analyze the time allotment required for all the task.
  2. Organizing: after planning, the manager needs to arrange and allocate all the resources available for the effective implementation of the plan. They need to have negotiation skills to acquire all the human and non-human resources along with problem solving skill to sole any issues that arise during this phase.
  3. Leading: another important function of a manager is to lead its team into successful completion of time in due time . for this they must have motivation skill to motivate its staff to make them work more efficiently and persuasion skill to make them see that organization goals to their own goals. They must be a communicator to completed all these task. They are also liable to create a positive and healthy environment for the workers to work more efficiently and boost their morale.
  4. Controlling: another function of management is controlling and the managers have controlling skills to ensure that the task are aliened to the goal of the organization and they do this by controlling the activity in it. They monitor the work of the employees and evaluate and analyses the work done by them , giving them proper guidance to improve it. They compare the results obtained with the standard and make the needed corrections and improvements to meet the standard.

So we can see that to perform a certain managerial task , the manger need to have those skills and the skills of management are used for performing the basic functions of the manager.
