Answer: Patients in the hospital setting suffers from mental stress. As already they are suffering from the physical injury or the disease. But due to this, they always have mental stress as well as dilemma. They feels a kind of mental pressure upon them. They stress themselves regarding the treatment provided to them as well as the sign and symptoms of the diseases, that increases their concerns and sufferings. People with the physical disease or injuries suffers from mental stress. Some of them suffers from severe mental trauma and depression.

(a) The functional abilities in the geriatic includes the daily assisted living such as bathing, maintaining proper hygiene, eating foods, walking and grooming etc. These are the functional abilities in the case of the geriatic. Most of them are too old to perform their daily task and hence requires assisted living facilities support. For example, A patient suffering from demntia, requires assistance for performing daily task, as due to old age, the disease progression occurs. He require assistance in bathing, walking etc.

(b) The assessment includes:

• The nutritional values of the patient. As people grow old, they are unable to eat sufficient foods which increases the chances of deficiency disease.
• Presence of chronic disease such as hypertension, diabetes etc.
• Vision is the most important assessment. As most of theold people are unable to see clearly as they aged.
