Why is it important that statistical research follow ethical guidelines?
What are some potential consequences of not following ethical statistical practice in your field of study (i.e., results used improperly, etc.)?
Statistical researches may be used in medical or biological purposes for example use of hypothesis testing before the release of a new drug with a high level of confoconfi used such that it doesn't harm animals or patients. It is assumed that the ethical norms and code of conduct would be followed so that it is trusted by people and does not harm anyone. Ethical lapses can harm the public if a researcher fabricates data in his trial just to have something released.
Ethics ensure that the researchers can be held accountable and also help to build trust in the research if the people feel that it has been conducted with full honesty and integrity which results to ease in funding for the statistical research.
Ethics are a set of rules which facilitate to protect copyright infringement while focussing on harmony and encouraging collaboration since statistical research generally involves a set of people to work together.
