management function of SAMSUNG COMPANY (planning, organizing, leading and controlling)
Samsung is one of the biggest tech giant companies and owes its success to the vision of one man Mr. Lee Byung-chul in the year 1938. It was found in Seoul, South Korea as a trading company and has now emerged as the leader of technology leaving behind most traditional companies that have even existed for longer.
The management function of the company is as explained.
Planning:-
Planning has always been the core, of Samsung and has helped it gain ground in the technological segment. Samsung is believed to have achieved in a small period of time what not many companies have. From great displays to a customer service model which is both flexible and has incorporated and learnt from its own negatives, this is the core of the company. In recent times, it has even been a key supplier to giants such as Apple because of its ability to plan and shape the future as per its own convenience. Regardless of the profits which Apple makes for an example, Samsung still gets paid for the display for every IPhone made which is the bestselling product.
Product planning of the company is so successful that many others often try to follow the same roadmap so as to become successful.
Organizing:-
Organizing refers to the act of systematically arranging things to be able to achieve organizations goals. The operations of Samsung have long been applauded by the international community for being best organized. This can be explained from the events it holds in which it showcases its products, to the superior build quality of recent product lines and making sure that the product reaches on time.
With production facilities in China and South Korea alike, Samsung ensures low costs for itself while delivering products of every quality type in most segments it caters to thus enabling itself to having a greater market share respectively.
Leading:-
It is correctly said, that Samsung is the world leader of technological innovation. Rapid development and investments in infrastructure and research and development have made it possible for the company to achieve this position. With this, the company has enabled itself to use its technology across different segments. For example it developed the curved display technology in televisions and has now successfully implemented the same in the smartphone industry also with its lineup of infinity display smartphones.
In this, the flexibility which the company presents is one of the key reasons why it has emerged as the leader of all segment types which it caters to respectively.
Control:-
While the key highlights and accomplishments of Samsung have been highlighted in the points listed above, it is important to know, that it has also had its fair share of problems. Throughout a company’s transition, problems do occur and will occur and are also healthy for an organization at times to know its shortcomings. But Samsung has always been one company that has taken control measures extremely seriously and has learnt its lessons and grown from them respectively.
A recent encounter of this is the Note Controversy in which phones exploded due to a faulty battery and overall phone design, The Company recalled every single device it sold and compensated people for their loss. It highlights that the company is not only profit centric, but aims at keeping customer satisfaction and safety at equal importance and for this it implements control techniques in a manner, that planned things can be achieved accordingly.
