How does mhc class 1 present antigen. Give detailed descriptive answer of what happens within the antigen presenting cell

Solutions

Expert Solution

Mhc class 1 present antigen by performing a very important part in alerting the immune cells of our body about the foreign particle. Mhc cells shows the peptide segments of proteins from inside the cell. This is recognized by the cytotoxic T cells and this initiates the immune response of our body.MHC used to display antigen presenting cells on their surfaces as peptides that are being degraded as a form of some cytosolic proteins. The function of MHC is to show the intracellular proteins to the killer cells. MHC 1 antigen presentation is sharply effected by viruses.During exposure of peptides on the cell surface , the infected viral cells are also exposed. MHC cells are heterodimers containing three alpha domains and once beta domain. The alpha 1 and 2 domains consists of a antigenic binding site known as peptide - binding site.MHC cells are now being assembled into ER where they are translocated to ER lumen. This process is done by a transporter associated with antigen processing. There are certain proteins that facilitate the binding of high similarity showing antigen peptides. So this usually happens within a antigen presenting cell.
