Explain how communicating the cardiovascular system to a patient is different from how you would explain the same system to a medical colleague.

Solutions

Expert Solution

While communicating with patient one should first introduce themselves One should speak only in layman's terms to patient and should not use medical terms like myocardial infraction and hypertension.Use simple languages like Blood pressure and heart attack. Make sure that the patient understand everything. Share your time and show empathy to the patient. Be honest to the patient and if any answer for the question which is asked by the patient is not known Say them that you don't know. When the patient is sharing the medical history don't intrupt and should not change the facial expression. Give enough time for the patient to speak

While talking with a medical colleague there is no need of introduction and can speak in medical terms. The severity of the disease can be directly said to a colleague but not to a patient directly. If any details is not known about the medical condition one can ask directly to a colleague.
