Expert Solution

Hi, I would like to determine the HR models here.

There are five models as of my knowledge.

1. Harvard Model

2. Warwick Model

3. 5P's Model

4. Ulrich Model

5. ASTD Competency Model.

Let we describe briefly about advantage and disadvantage of each model.

1. The Harvard Model :

The Harvard Model is the first Model in the HRM. Yes it is discovered first in Harvard University so the name comes. It was designed by several experts but lead by the king named Michael Beer in 1984 in Harvard University.

The main outcomes for this model is 4c's commitment, competence, congruence and cost-effectiveness.

Main Advantage for this model is in cooperation and motivational practices and empowers general managers to get involved in the HR aspect of the business.

Disadvantage is it will only concerns for General Managers it will not tell about the low level employees.

2. The Warwick Model :

Yes this model also named as Warwick because of this model also created in the University Warwick. It was designed by researchers Chris Hendry and Andrew M. Pettigrew at the University of Warwick.

Here also some like Harvard Model it involves in 5 different contexts. Outer context, inner context, Business strategy content, HRM Context and HRM Content.

Here also main advantage is the model speaks about the organizational structure and business aspects clearly.

But the disadvantage is here also they don't speak about the employee welfare.

3. The 5P's Model

It is another model developed by Randall S. Schuler. Yes as per the name 5P's Model there is 5 P's are Purpose, Principle, Processes, People and Performance.

Here the advantage is the model speaks about the purpose of work and behaviors of peoples and also the performance about each work also narrate the principles and purposes in the business.

Disadvantage is it will not cover the business aspects.

4. The Ulrich Model

This model is developed by Dave Ulrich and also published this model in his book called "Human Resource champions"

Here the model speaks about strategic partner, change agent, administrative expert, and employee champion (or employee advocate).

Advantage is it provide the clear cut view about each and every employee.

Disadvantage is it will not provide the business aspects.

5. The ASTD Competency Model

This Model is established by American Society for Training and Development, here it describes the three subsequent level are Foundation level, Focus Level and Execution Level.

Here the most advantage is it will help the users to understand all the major levels in the business.

But disadvantage is it will not speak about the welfare of the employees

These are the 5 Major Model. Everything has some advantage and disadvantage. we required to take the good things in each and every instance.

Keep smiling!!!
