What do you see are the advantages and disadvantages of the Beveridge model?

The Beveridge model deals with the healthcare facility provided and financed by the government. Thks system is most commonly associated with UK.

ADVANTAGES-

1. Easy to prepare, less time consumption, Low cost(overall)

2. Easy to understand as well as equal health care chance.

3. Easy access to primary healthcare services.

4. Most doctors are government employees that means least chances of their high rates.

5. No medical bills, its a public service.

6.In case they are private doctors, they collect the fees from government.

7. No one has to pay long bills(healthcare) and drop down in the condition of debt.

DISADVANTAGES

1. Long queues, more waiting list.

2. High taxation.

3. SHortage of specialist doctors.

4. It may happen that some lower class people are not treated importantly.

5. Huge government involvement.

CONCLUSION

The model is influenced by socialists ideals. Provided equality for healthcare facility for rich and poor.
