When I was a small kid , we had a cub in our home . After a certain point of time , my father kept him in a Lion reserve forest. After few years , when I went to visit him, he still remembered me . The kind of affection and love he showered on me was a memorable one for me . It was very precious. It was an immediate reaction to stimuli , to which he responded . This is an example of evolution of emotions .
The theories of emotion are:
1. Evolution Theory of Emotion
The evolution of emotions , seemed to be adaptive thus allowing the humans and animals to survive and reproduce . According to this theory , the existence of emotions serves an adaptive role. The presence of emotions motivate a person to respond quickly to stimuli happening in the surrounding . This increases and upgrades the chance of surviving and achieving success. Eg : A person having fear compels him/her to either fight or stay in constant panic.
2. Cognitive Appraisal Theory
In this case , thinking takes place before a person experiences emotion. A series of events, thereby involving a stimulus which is followed by thoughts , thereby having a number of experiences at a same time , which leads to physiological response and as well as emotions .
Eg : While entering forest , we hear the sound of a wild bear. The second thought which comes to our mind is thinking about the fear . The emotion of fear is led by a number of physiological changes in our body .
