why do individuals tend to resist when being informed of a need for change?? Answer must be 200 words or more
Change is the only permanent thing in this world and change is the most hated thing too. One of the main reason people hate change is that they would have lived or worked in a certain way for a long time, so changing their attitudes and behaviours suddenly becomes difficult for them because they have to unlearn and relearn certain things in order to cope with the change. Secondly, people are comfortable with the way they live or work and change would force them to learn something new which might be a skill, an environment or even a person. It requires tremendous efforts for someone to cope with change. Thirdly, people don’t like change because it makes them nervous about the unknown. They are afraid of learning something new as they don’t know what’s there for them in the store. Finally the fear of failure would stop them from attempting something new because they don’t like to fail and become a laughing stock in front of others. Thus change makes people worried about how they would live in the future leaving all the known things, people and environment. It also limits one’s potential but offers enough challenges to excel and prove one’s worth.
