Balance of the Politics-Administration dichotomy
The idea of Politics-Administration dichotomy refers to the relationship between the elected officials and the administrators in a democratic society. The importance of both to interfere in the functioning of democratic system is high, the proper cooperation and communication between the two sections play high role in the efficiency and effectiveness of the system.
The balance between these sections can efficiently allocate resources, work together for the growth of the economy and the society. The structural imbalances and the ideological differences create problems between the political intentions and that of the administration. The lack of coordination leads to improper functioning and ineffective decision making which further results in economic and societal failure. This may leads to fall of government and even the entire system. Maintaining a balance between the politics-administration dichotomies could attain effective decision makings, proper arrangement of matters affecting the governance etc.
The effective functioning of public administrators can make a balance between the politics-administration dichotomies. Proper planning and implementation through regular suggestions, pointing out the drawbacks of the policies and changes which could help the efficiency of the policies are all the ways that administrators can do to maintain the balance. Independent decisions can lead to improper balance between the two. Proper understanding and mutual dependence can bring balance between politics-administration dichotomy and effective implementations of the policies.
