How do you see the impact of technologies like TelePresence on the workplace? On personal human interactions? Are you in support of more or less face-to-face (FTF) interactions? Explain your answer. If you have used TelePresence or a similar solution at your work, please share your experience.

Telepresence refers to a collection of technologies which allow a user to feel as if they were present, to give the feel of being present, or to create an effect, via telerobotics, at a place other than their original location.

The impact of technologies like TelePresence on the workplace:

1. Technology Is Changing Office Culture

2. Speed and Efficiency - Workers today are more productive than they’ve ever been. The impact of technology on work, both in manufacturing and in communication, has exponentially increased the rate of production and speed at which business occurs.

3. Keeping It Fully Organized

4. Keeping the Business Secure - It provides an end-to-end hardware and software-based data encryption so that only authorized parties are able to retrieve and read it. Fingerprint and facial recognition features give an added level of security to the systems at the workplace.

5. Improving Efficiency of Employees - Time management is important in the modern workplace as poor time management can lead to deadlines to be missed leading to an unhappy client. Time management has now become easier with the help of modern technological tools.

It is hypothesized that the use of the Internet for interpersonal communication can improve quality of life among Internet users, just like face-to-face communication in everyday life. As coin has two face same way there are pros and cons of face-to-face interactions.

PROS:

Allows reading of body language, builds trust and transparency. Face-to-face interaction minimise the risk of miscommunication compared to email or over the phone.

CONS:

Finding appropriate time from alll members is bit difficult to manage,  Cost of arranging a meeting.
