Identify and discuss two duties that a Christian Manager owes his or her employees.
A Christian manager owes his employees basic moral duties that align with the work and the principles that Jesus taught during his brief moment in the world.
1. Honesty
Although Honesty is a basic obligation of most managers, it is a principle that is not followed by most. However, a Christian manager, on the basis of his belief in Christ owes his employees the truth. There are several verses in the Bible that highlight this basic and significant duty and how it is evil in the eyes of the Lord. A few examples are 2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 4:25, Colossians 3:9, Proverbs 12:22, that stress the importance of the truth. So by following this basic principle of honesty, a Christian manager is not only fulfilling his basic obligations but also obeying the commands of the Lord.
2. Servant leadership
One of the most significant duties of a Christian after being given a responsibility to lead is serving the employee's needs. In Matthew 10. Jesus said that for an individual to achieve greatness, they must first become servants. After which he interpreted the notion of how a leader must serve those who are under them and be an example. A Christian manager can pay heed to Jesus's words while meeting his obligations as a manager by being a leader instead of a bossy figure, by serving the employees instead of being served.
These duties can be interpreted as empowering employees and providing the basic tools to complete their job. Developing ways to make work efficient and simple for everybody while valuing the employees over yourself.
