Matthew Desmond in his book Evicted has mentioned the type of reserach methodoly he used in analysisng the contents . He has used a combination of qulaitative and quantitaive data . He used structured questionaanire on household in the form of a survey . He also used interiews and observation for other things for his data collection . Thereare very few reserachers who would use a combination of two in a single work . He also used National Representative Survey for analysis , which is secondary data . Thus he used both primary and secondary data for his analysis .

He conducted interview with the parents ,parents work education and health realted histore and assessment on visit for arriving at the consclusions. In all we can say that his reserach methodology is unstructured but he used all the available resources to draw references to conclude his thoughts . His methodology can not be questioned as it is very comprehensive in approach .

We can say that his methods were scientific in nature as all his conclusions are drawn based on the reserach and not his gut feelings . He has used all the available methods in social science to draw cross references .
