a)Explore how we can enhance productivity, and increase innovation while considering employee wellbeing. You must address the challenges of bias and prejudice on achieving the most effective outcomes.
In the modern world, an organization's success not only depends on its profits but also it's ability to attract and retain talent. Employee productivity is the most important factor contributing to the success of an organization. It is a deciding factor for an organization's sustainability in the long run. Employee productivity depends on employee motivation and employee engagement. Without either, it is hard for the employees to be productive.
There are many ways to improve productivity like making them work overtime, over long hours and by delegating them with more work. But this takes a toll on the employee's wellbeing. An effective way to improve employee productivity is to look after the physical, mental, and emotional states of the employees. This will make sure they are engaged with the organization and ensure maximum employee satisfaction that will, in turn, boost their productivity, which will facilitate innovation and creativity.
To ensure employees' physical wellbeing, seminars and counselling must be provided to them to counsel them on burnout, over stress, work-life balance, etc. To ensure emoloyees' mental and emotional wellbeing, their morale is to be boosted from time to time by making them feel a sense of belongingness and purpose. To ensure employees' social wellbeing, measures must be taken to improve their social interactions within the workplace and improve the quality of their interpersonal relationships. Creating optimal work conditions for the employees by ensuring a safe work environment where they will thrive is a great way to boost employee productivity.
Bias and prejudice can come in between that can block an employee's judgement and make him make poor judgements. Such bias and prejudices are common in a multicultural organization where an ethnocentric view can be adopted by some employees. This will also deprive them socially and will prove to be bad for his productivity. By mentoring and counselling him in such issues will prove to be beneficial to both the employee and the wellbeing of the organization as well.
By implementing these prerequisites, employee productivity will surge. This will, in turn, facilitate creativity that is the base for innovation. Such a work environment will make sure the employees thrive, thus ensuring a better quality of work, and thereby ensuring the sustainability of the organization by fostering innovation.
