The popular "You are not special" commencement speech was part
of your learning module, but if you would like to view it again
here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lfxYhtf8o4) prior to posting,
go ahead. Some of themes in the speech are relevant to treating
mental disorders and coaching clients toward more productive life
skills.
Here is the prompt: should we be focused on helping clients or
children see themselves more accurately (e.g., "you are not
special"), or would this strategy increase disorders such as
depression? Explain your stance.
In this comncement speach ironically use the term you are not special " . In classroom situation , we have seen several chilldren who have faced number of problem like learning disability , Behavioural problem and adjustment problem , speach problem . But still teacher are not so much focused on it rather claimed "you are not special " . Strongly I will recommend to be focused each children more accurately . It will helps to understand their mental , behavioural and other learning problem . But there will be certain kind precaution and strategy . When we care and concentrate on chilldren , look them their problem very genuinely and naturally it will not like that this problem only you have rather than anyone else . Because may be they feel depression . When we are more determined , empathetic and soloution orinted then of course it will helps to develop learner capablity , not as special one rather develop inclusiveness among all .
