7. Trautwein and Ammerman are curious how the CI group compares to the norm on CLS at the end of the study.

a. What inferential test should the researchers use? Why?

Post ClS is a continuous variable and average of two groups are to be compared. Independent sample t test is used to compare mean ALS post scores of the two groups.

b. What are the independent and dependent variables?

independent variable: CI group( CI and Non CI)

dependent variable:   CLS score

c. Using the A-B-C-D format used in class, answer Drs. Trautwein and Ammerman’s research question

MINITAB used.

Calculated t=2.78, P=0.009 which is < 0.05 level of significance.

Null hypothesis is rejected.

We conclude that there is significant mean difference in CLS at the end of the study between the two CI groups.
