The scientist-practitioner model refers to a training model for graduate programs in clinical psychology in the United States that aims to increase scientific growth by encouraging psychologists' to utilize empirical research to influence their applied practice and at the same time apply their experiences learned during applied practice to shape their future research questions. It is also called the Boulder Model.
