You have probably been exposed to hundreds of thousands of advertisements in your lifetime. Identify five ways exposure to advertising make you a better or worse consumer?
1. Advertising made us aware of a lot of products which we didn't even know existed. So, it increased our knowledge and awareness about the products that are available.
2. But at the same time, advertising has created a lot of competition. Every producer wants to sell their product and customers have a lot of options available. So, customers have become more choosy and irritating.
3. Advertising eliminates the middlemen. Nobody has to demonstrate any product if it is being advertised. So, it has made customers aware of any fradulent claims done by middlemen to sell their products.
4. Advertising increases sales which decrease overhead costs and thus prices. Most of the organisations are offering huge discounts as sales promotion techniques. Lesser prices, free samples, good customer services are the benefits which consumers receive which has made customers asking for more.
5. Advertising has made consumers more vigilant, aware and educated. So, in this way, it has made them a better customer.
