‘For the performance appraisal (PA) process to proceed smoothly
and to serve the desired purpose, it is essential that the
organisation design and implement comprehensive, fair, and
transparent systems and processes that are explicitly shared with
both supervisors and subordinates’ (Varma, Budhwar & Norlander,
2017, p. 283). Having said that, there are several common
evaluation errors in PA that may occur. Critically compare the
various possible appraiser errors, particularly those arising from
the supervisor-subordinate relationship.
