What is Competency based performance appraisal?
Competency-based performance evaluations concentrate on improving the behaviors the competencies that are important to the success of workers in their positions as A-players. Competence-based performance reviews examine how the actions of an employee over a defined time led to the achievement or lack of defined goals, so that you gain an understanding of where an employee currently stands and what additional behaviors they should develop for future success
They provide a more comprehensive and complex description of the conducts that are important for success: Specifically related to the business (for example, a small fast-moving organization might anticipate and profit from different activities than a big, highly process-oriented one)Related to the specific position of an employee (success as a salesperson needs different skills than a service technician)
Competencies around the organization represent characteristics that are important to organizations. Those may be principles of the organisation, behaviors or the way you and your colleagues treat your job as a cohesive organization. Role-specific competencies focus more on how each employee will outstand in their individual jobs.In turn, the skills help to define roles. The behaviors that you expect in a given job become part of the definition of that job
