New technologies enhancing service management:

* The genuine fact about services is that it is people's business. but somehow modern days (21st century) technology can enhance services, even it can take services to a certain higher level.

* For instance, if a service provider has updated technology, it can surely beat the rival competitors and prove its strength in the market.

Let's take examples of how technology is changing IT services:

1) Augmented reality (AR) - Despite the potential of AR, the use of AR in the service industry remains limited. for instance, AR-enabled glasses, a remote expert can see the same thing that a field engineer is seeing in the project field.

- Smartphone Camera can be used to scan the barcode, picture, or QR-code. The AR software working in the smartphone will recognize this image and overlay information on the display bar augmenting the real-live image with the information provided from the database.

2) Virtual Reality (VR) - VR is still in making technology, VR may require a significant amount of computing power and bandwidth, which makes it unsuitable for longer distances. The environment can be virtualized and give the person using VR a pleasant and same model as reality.
