Analyze and evaluate how the SHELL Model can be used variously, and in practical terms, during a post-accident investigation as analysis tool, as an accident prevention tool, and as an aviation safety training tool. Provide examples. Then apply these applications of the SHELL Model to overall improvements of aviation safety
SHELL model is a concept underlying the assessment of the scope and validation of the human factors that defines the relationship between the aviation system and the human component of the aviation system. It was first given by Edwards in 1984. It consists of the software, hardware, environment and liveware. It analyzes the failures of the aviation model and surveillance in designing and modeling. It rarely emphasizes on the human error in the aviation industry. It does monitoring of the air traffic system and control with human element present at the center of the system and connected to all parts of the aviation system. It consists of the software and hardware applications whcih include the basic machinery of the computer operating systems with network and availability of softwares. It consists of charts, maps and softwares for analyzing the traffic air control systems. Environment consists of the temperature, pressure and humidity in the airplane along with the equipment to control the temperature conditions. The circuits with interception of sound waves and telecommunication wave systems are installed for communication with the pilot, navigation control and curve tracing of the path of the air plane is controlled with installed machinary depicting the points of navigation in the air. The aircraft fueling, dynamics, movement in the air, pressure inside the tyres, aerodynamics force and friction, upward thrust, speed and velocity are controlled with the help of system imaging applications. The machines, coolant gases and the burning of the gases inside the piston cylinder with various parameter conditions are effectively monitored on the system software screen which gives the entire details along with the hand operation equipment gears, steering and the propulsion meter attached inside the cockpit. The elevation height, oxygen gas content and atmospheric pressure are effectively monitored. The oxygen content and supply inside the plane is also effectively analyzed and monitored with surveillance.
