describe how the terms 'language' and 'dialect' can be used politically.
Language could be considered as a standard spoken and written forms of a language which is accepted all over the regions where that particular language is used, whereas, dialect is a colloquial form of language which is very specific to a particular region which would be different from other regions. Politically speaking, both would be used to gain advantage because people are emotionally connected to the languages they speak. When used as a weapon, it has the capacity to unite people who talk that language across the world as it would provide a belongingness feel. It could also cause more negative impacts as people would tend to discriminate people who speak other languages in the same country. However dialects are more native to different regions which would provide politicians an advantage to unite those who belong to that particular region. but it may not reflect nationally.
