Describe the Pyramid System Training Routine and give an example with a Flat Bench Press?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The psychological well being of a person is directly proportional to the healthy lifestyle he choose to incorporate in his daily activities. Excercise is more than mere muscle flexing and aerobic engagements. It not only improves memory, concentration, aids in normal sleep patterns, but also has therapeutic properties of treating mental health problems like depression, anxiety and acute stress. Pyramid system training routine is one such physical exercise that aids in overall physical and mental well being of an individual. It is also known as the ascending model which involves creating a pyramid of reps and sets of any exercise. As the number of weight increases, the number of reps decreases. This reflects the inversely proportional relationship between the weight and the reps, which is mutually and inclusively beneficial. The concept of pyramid system training routine can be used while doing flat bence press. For example, when we begin the flat bench press , we can do ten rep for the first set.One can continue with the same weight ,but gradually decrease to nine reps for another set. You can keep on adding weight while you are bench pressing, and as you add weight (going up the pyramid), you can decrease the reps as you move further with the sets. The advantage of this kind of excercise is that it can be used simultaneously to build muscle and lose fat.Furthermore, it is an essential routine to relax muscle, reduce stress and promote positive well being.
