A. Colonisation:
This occurs due to prolonged exposure of microorganisms persistently but there is no signs and symptoms from the victim.
Usually health care provider, when attending pediatric cases they are more prone to get colonisation of many microorganisms like GAS ( group A streptococcus infection).
So in all repeuted hospital, they will take MRSA or certain multi drug resistance tests as a pre employment health check up for the health care provider before joining to detect the colonisation of microorganisms.
B. Infections:
Infections in the health care sector occurs due to many reasons:
They are as follows:
a. Improper hand washing technique
b. Direct contact infections
c. Poor immune response
d. Hospital acquired infections
e. Improper handling of patients blood, urine, motion, specimen and discharge etc.
C. Disease:
Usually health care provider are more subjected to certain diseases like
a. Occupational acquired infections- tuberculosis
b. Highly infections diseases_ hepatitis A and C
c. Respiratory tract infections_ SARS
d. Severe communicable diseases
This occurs due to following certain things:
1. Improper handling of the patient
2. Not following safety measures
3. Needle stick injuries_ this is the primary issue for many communicable disease
4. Not following personal protective equipment
