As an HR practitioner, How would you balance between creating a healthy and safe work environment for the workers and minimizing cost on the part of the organisation.

Staff spend a large portion of their everyday lives at their job, at least eight to ten hours of it. So, having a secure and healthy working environment there is important to them. Not only does it allow the worker to feel more dedicated to his job but it also adds to the overall efficiency of the business. Therefore, the company and its human resources (HR) team need to rely more on ensuring the healthy working climate, as it would eventually show in a good way in the organization's balance sheet. The U.S. Department of Labor and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) advises that a safety protocol be developed at any place of employment. Study reveals that companies tend to pay $170 million annually on occupational accident lawsuits, which has a significant impact on the income of the company. If OSHO's recommended strategies are implemented, it can be lowered annually to 20 per cent to 40 per cent. Healthy conditions also serve to boost the worker's productivity. And, if those measures help save resources, boost efficiency, and enhance morale, then yeah, it's still a lucrative opportunity. HR has to demonstrate to the authorities as well as to the workers that the healthy climate is the responsibility not just of the employers but also of the workers. Health and safety policy technicalities also include a health and safety officer, or a separate safety and health consultant. The HR serves as the bond between the employee and the consultant or the officer in such a situation. The HR plays an important role in the coordination between the leadership of the company and the workers. It is the HR's duty to ensure that the employees' questions are answered and addressed.
