1. Before reading info from the textbook, what did you believe
about the amount of carbohydrate you should have in your
diet?
2. After reading info from the textbook, why does the body require an adequate amount of the "good" carbohydrates? How will this knowledge impact your diet?
An average man should maintain the 10,470 KJ of energy and average women should maintain the 8340 KJ of energy per day, hence the diet based on activity is very crucial. Around 225 to 325 carbohydrates per day is must for average human beings. There is a need of 35 to 45 grams of carbohydrate before doing any activity, it may be reading as well. A scenario like before reading the information from the textbook the available carbon in the body would be more when compared to after reading the textbook.
The reading any information makes the brain work and it requires energy in the form of carbohydrates and other nutrients. The energy required to concentrate and analyze and understand the content makes the energy to be gained from the source. After reading information from the textbook, the body tends to demand more energy and hence good carbohydrate consumption makes the body active enough to gain energy. The best source for carbohydrate includes potato, pasta, banana, bread, etc. Hence the knowledge based on diet maintenance makes to understand to consume at least, two large potatoes, one large potato contains 20 grams of carbohydrate. 19 to 35 grams is found in one banana and hence two banana is enough to gain energy for performing the activity, but this should have been consumed one hour before reading.
