Suppose some of the sale tactics used by RPM vio- lated Oregon law. What could Lamson do about it? Unless he suffered the effects of an illegal practice by making a purchase based on such practice, he had no complaint at law. Who would know more about such practices: those involved in putting them in place or a customer? Do you think any other car dealer would want to hire Lamson if he went public about his complaints?
In this specific case Lamson has done according to its ethics
and code of conduct. He reported misconduct to the top authority of
his organisation but that authority fired Lamson for doing the
specific practice.
In this case Lamson can file a case against the company and general
manager for following the malpractice and cheating the customers.
This type of approach would be heard by the court as Lamson correct
in providing information to the top authority of the organisation.
It would also create a positive impact on the court regarding
following the ethics and conducts. Everything done by the RPM is
statistically available to be measured, god would definitely rule
in the favour of Lamson.
Definitely other car dealers wood hire Lamson even if you went
public about this complaint. Most of the car dealers do not follow
ethical practices which was involved in this search case.
Organisation requires employee with high ethics and fairness in
work which would create a positive opportunity for Lamson.
