Analyze the distinction between program evaluation and policy analysis, and why governmental organizations engage in such activities.
Following are the distinction between program evaluation and policy analysis----------
Program evaluation--------it is the systematic method of collecting ,analyzing, and using data to examine the effectiveness and efficency of the program and as importantly ,to contribute to continious program improvement.
2. program evaluation can involve both quantitative, and qualitative methods of social research. program evaluation may be conducted at several stages during a program lifetime.
policy analysis---------policy analysis is a techniques used in public administration to enable civil servent , activists, and other to examine and evaluate the available options to implement the goals of laws and elected officials.
2. this process is also used in the administration of large organization with complex policies.
3. the policy analysis can be divided into two major fields--1. Analysis of existing policy 2. Analysis of new policy.
Govermental organizations engage in program evaluation and policy analysis to use in making budget, management and policy decions. the goverment applies policies to all citizens and also monopolizes the use of force in applying and implenting the policy.
