Describe a time when you motivated an team to achieve a very challenging goal? In Retail
I had previously worked as a manager in a retail store where the company had enjoyed market dominance for over 2 years. The problem started when the competition opened up a new retail outlet near our main outlet area. This caused up a lot of competition and required the teams to have to formulate a new business plan. This was caused due to the unreasonable price cut that the new business employed in order to run our customers away from our service towards their own. The cou ter strategy proposed by the upper management involved the services from all the sectors to be consolidated and the teams that were then created in order to compete with the new structure in mind. This was the time where I had to manage all the teams directly in order to provide a bridge to all the services that were being presented. The functions included customer interaction, marketing, and even hustling in the streets in order to gain back the business the company had just lost. Not only was the change difficult, but, required employees with back end experience to have to get into the field and essentially work in an unfamiliar position. This was the most difficult assignments that I have had to accomplish in my professional life and the team management was a necessary part of the process.
