any changes to Caterpillars Inc global strategy.

any changes to Caterpillars Inc global strategy.

Solutions

Expert Solution

The caterpillar Inc currently operates in 180 countries and generates more than half its annual sales from outside the United States. In order to operate in a global scale any company needs to work within a variety of different cultures, economic environment and different government systems.

The global strategy of the caterpillar company is in the production of interchangeable parts that fits into any caterpillar regardless of the country of origin. This is a great global strategy because the operation of each and every country becomes a worldwide plan and feeds into the success and continuity of the company.

Through this the company has achieved economies of scale as well as growing businesses for parts not only in the US but across the globe.

I wouldn't change this strategy because it is neither purely domestic nor global but a combination of both. That is caterpillar Company is able to grow at home as well as globally. Most of the competing companies suffer the shortcomings of focusing much either domestically or globally.
