Draw one water molecule with 4 hydrogen bonds to 4 other water molecules. Indicating partial positive and partial negative charges.
Answer-
In water molecule, each hydrogen atom shares an electron pair with oxygen atom. The oxygen nucleus attracts electrons more strongly than does the hydrogen nucleus. So, oxygen is more electronegative. The sharing of electrons between H and O is therefore unequal; the electrons are more often in the vicinity of the oxygen atom rather than hydrogen. This unequal electron sharing creates two electric dipoles in the water molecule. Oxygen atom bears partial negative charge (-) and each hydrogen atom bears partial positive charge (+). The resulting electrostatic interaction between hydrogen atom of one water molecule and oxygen atom of another water molecule creates hydrogen bond.
