How important are ethics for a PR person?
detailed answer please
Ethics determines the reputation of not only the PR person but also of the organization, business, or corporation for which the person works. Ethics is based on personal morals and every person sees it differently. A more ethical decision strengthens the reputation of the customers and the general public.
Integrity and transparency are the two most important principles that improve ethics-based decisions. Both of these principles let customers and the public see what is exactly happening and what are they offered. They also increase the trust in the PR person as well as the company. Along with these principles, confidentiality and competency are also principles that form a part of ethics of a PR person. Publicity on the basis of false and opaque information is not sustainable and public abandons and punishes the firm which employs such PR persons who behave in such an unethical manner. Conversely, ethical PR persons help gain public trust, retain customers, and also leads to greater innovation in the industry.
